Innocent Spouse Claims

In 1998, Congress provided the possibility of real relief for spouses of taxpayers when there had been an erroneous understatement of tax.  Today, the law allows one spouse to be free of the tax liabilities of the other spouse if certain conditions are met.

Joseph Falcone has been working in the area of “innocent spouse” tax law during his entire 41 year tax career.  The 1998 revision of the law made it much more likely that one could be granted innocent spouse relief.  It is important, however, that the facts be presented to the IRS in a way that meets all of the requirements of the law.  If you believe you may qualify for innocent spouse relief, contact Joseph Falcone for help.
